Margaret “Win” Smith is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with a bachelors in Environmental Science and also graduated with a bachelors in Nursing from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She began her career as a nurse in Labor and Delivery at UAB hospital, one of the country’s leading academic medical centers, where she was recognized for leadership and excellence in nursing. She then went on to receive her Master’s in Nursing at Samford University and began practicing comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology care in Women’s Reproductive Health at UAB. She was elected to the Advanced Practice Provider Executive Council and served on the Women’s Health Wellness Committee, along with several health equity task forces focused on improving access to medical care. She has consistently been recognized as one of the top ambulatory providers based on patient satisfaction scores.
